During this session, Dr. Campbell will help you better understand the various symptoms and explain the different types of dementia. He will also provide information and insights into the changes that may be experienced throughout the progression of dementia.

‘Care conferences’ are opportunities to meet with staff involved in the care of a person living with dementia who is residing in a personal care home. In this session, learn about what care conferences are, who’s involved, when and how often they should happen and the primary goals of the meeting. This session will also discuss what to expect before, during and after the meetings.

In this session, the Long-Term Care Access Centre Clinical Leads will present on the Long-Term Care eligibility and placement within the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. The role of the Long-Term Care Navigator for clients accessing Long Term Care in both hospital and community will be reviewed, as well as an overview of placement options including Supportive Housing, Personal Care Home (including specialized units) and Chronic Care. They will also review current waitlists and wait times for Long-Term Care placement.
